Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies head coach Jerry Tshabalala is determined to restore his side’s dominance in continental football scenes and reclaim their 2021 title as the Queens of African football.

Masandawana returned to training at their base in Chloorkop last week as they start preparations for the new 2023 campaign.

Tshabalala has since expressed his excitement with how his players returned back in good shape and he has no doubt that they will conquer Africa once more again.

‘Kappa’, as he is popularly known within football circles, insists that they have learnt a thing or two from the previous CAF Women’s Champions League and have gained “valuable experiences”.

Banyana Ba Style have, for the past two seasons, played in the continental football showpiece on top of their busy schedule, including the local league.

JERRY TSHABALALA AIMS TO CONQUER AFRICA…

“We have also gained valuable experiences at the two editions of the CAF Women’s Champions League. Last year, we saw how physical teams are becoming, thus, we are working hard on our fitness levels and physical conditions,” Tshabalala told Sundowns’ media department.

“I am very excited about the sharpness and fitness of the team during our first training sessions.

“We are truly motivated ahead of the new season and conquering the continent remains our top objective.”

Meanwhile, the club aims to entrench their dominance in the Hollywoodbets Super League, which is set to commence next month.

JERRY TSHABALALA ON HOLLYWOODBETS SUPER LEAGUE TITLE DEFENCE…

“Although we dominated the Hollywoodbets Super League, we suffered unexpected defeats to UWC and TUT. But those were avoidable defeats and we need to treat each game like a cup final and not save our best performances against certain teams,” he added.

“Last season, we learned lots of lessons across the three competitions and there are certain aspects of our game we need to improve upon.

“Complacency is something we are working hard to eliminate because we need to approach each game with renewed zeal to do better than the last game.”
