Mayo Out Of Pirates Game

Cape Town City have suffered a big blow as they will miss Khanyisa Mayo against Orlando Pirates.

The 24-year-old picked up an injury right at the end of the first half in City’s 1-0 defeat to SuperSport United at DHL Stadium on Tuesday.

Mayo limped off the pitch and was replaced by the Gambian international Kajally Drammeh, with Eric Tinkler touching on the incident after the match.

“He complained when he came off at half-time that he was in pain. So he’s still busy icing [and] will obviously only be able to assess him again, tomorrow,” Tinkler said after the match on Tuesday.

According to an iDiski Times source, Mayo has been on crunches since and he is not available for the Saturday’s big clash between City and Orlando Pirates.

The former Richards Bay forward has been instrumental for the Citizens this season, as he has been involved in six goals in the 14 appearances that he has made.
