Ntando Duma explains why she kept her marriage and second child private

Ntando Duma opens up about her secret marriage and pregnancy

South African actress and media personality Ntando Duma has opened up about her decision to keep her relationship and growing family away from the public eye.

Ntando, who shares her first daughter Sbahle with DJ Junior De Rocka, welcomed her second child with her husband, singer Una Rams.

Unlike her first pregnancy, which played out publicly from as early as two weeks in, the star chose to approach this chapter of her life with more discretion.

Speaking on the L-Tido Podcast, Ntando revealed that she and Una Rams first connected at the Royal Heritage Festival in Venda before moving their conversations to Instagram.

“Five weeks later we were officially girlfriend and boyfriend. Six months into the relationship he sent a letter home,” she said.

The couple eventually tied the knot in a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family.

Fans only caught a glimpse of their wedding when Previdar magazine featured it on June 6.

On August 5, they revealed they had welcomed their first child together with a heartwarming cover on Batswadi magazine.

Ntando explained why she chose a different approach this time, saying: “We live very normal lives and not everything that we do needs to be announced or has to be known by everyone. We have so little to ourselves with everything that we do, so it’s important for us to know what is ours and when to put it out there if we decide to do it.”

She added that their decision was not only about privacy but also about control.

“All of that was strategic. We felt we didn’t want the next person to announce it for us, so we did it the best way we know, and we went the route of a magazine cover because of who we are in the industry, and it’s also very controllable as well.”

For Ntando, the choice allowed her and her loved ones to savor their moments without outside noise.

“You also get to enjoy the moments without anyone having to say this or that. Not that we care what the next person says, but when you have those moments with those that you love, it’s just so special,” she added.
