Cape Town City have announced the arrival of Colombian striker Juan Camilo Zapata, as reported by iDiski Times in November.
City have notably been in the market for a new striker over the last few months and their sub-par 2022/23 season so far has made it evident there’s a need for attacking reinforcements.
The Colombian hitman, 28, came onto their radar after scoring 19 goals in 35 games across all competitions last season – finishing second in the Golden Boot race in the top flight.
“Cape Town City is delighted to announce the club record transfer of Colombian forward Juan Camilo Zapata,” the club said via a statement.
“A 4 year deal which sees the magician start in January 2023!”
Zapata, who can feature as false nine or in wide areas, will add another dimension to the Citizens attack that features Wayde Lekay, Khanyisa Mayo, Luke Daniels, and Venezuelan Darwin Gonzales.
