Pitso Mosimane has dished out some proper praise for SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt and also thanked Stan Matthews for sticking with him.
Hunt guided his Matsatsatantsa side into third place, with 21 points from 12 games, ahead of the FIFA World Cup break.
However, SuperSport needed a few games to get going after failing to win their first four games, with Stan Matthews telling iDiski Times that he was “very concerned” initially but still kept faith with Hunt.
Mosimane commended Matthews in response to the article posted by iDiski Times, saying Hunt couldn’t have become a bad coach over night.
“I said it when he Gavin Hunt was going through that small temporary bad patch that it was just a hiccup,” he stated.
“Good Coach that won many trophies than any Coach in SA now, can’t become a bad Coach overnight. Thanks Stan Matthews, for understanding football.
“Gavin Hunt is better than all of us, myself included. He did not win trophies at Sundowns. He won the PSL League titles, three times at Supersport . I only came 2nd repeatedly.
“Think about it. Top Coach.”
