WATCH: SAPS officers assault tavern patrons

A video has surfaced showing SAPS officers assaulting tavern patrons who appeared to just be enjoying a drink.

In the video which was shared by Crime In SA, the tavern’s owner can be heard depicting what transpired inside his tavern.

He says the group of customers were cooperating when SAPS officers asked to search them for no apparent reason.

The group consisting of two men and two women were complying to being searched by the officers when one of the SAPS members slapped one of the men.

“It’s amazing how black men in a blue uniform treat other black men. Out of the blue the officer hits one of the men so hard that he falls to the ground. Look at the size of the man compared to the officer, I mean one slap.”

It is unknown at this stage where the incident took place and SAPS hasn’t released a statement.
