Ex-AmaZulu and Orlando Pirates midfielder Augustine Mulenga says he is adjusting in his first month since joining Zambian club Napsa Stars.
Mulenga returned to his Zambian base in the off-season following the expiry of his contract at AmaZulu.
He joined Napsa in early October as a free agent following five seasons in the South Africa PSL.
The 32-year-old Chipolopolo midfielder has so far scored two goals from seven matches played for Napsa, with whom he signed a five-month deal.
“I think Zambian League is a league that I know very well, and for me to come back to it, I just had to adjust because it is similar to the PSL but with just a few different things like pitches,” Mulenga said.
“I have already adopted and adjusted to the game and league, so now I just have to be focused and understand my teammates so that we are on the same page.
“Because I am still new, some guys don’t know my movements, and I also don’t know some of their movements yet.
“But as we train together, I have come to learn one or two things from them, like one is good at this, and one is good at that, so we, in other words, we are helping each other at training.”
Mulenga has played two full games and started the rest of his other matches for Napsa, who are three places above the bottom four relegation zone at number 12, battling to recover from a three-match losing run.
But Mulenga believes that with five games left before the mid-way point of the season, Napsa still has a good chance of making the top six by Week 19, which guarantees an ABSA Cup spot.
Napsa is the ABSA Cup champions after winning it last season when they also successfully secured promotion back to the FAZ Super League after spending the 2021/2022 campaign in the second tier.
