Argentina Confirm 2 Squad Changes

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has announced two changes to his squad, just three days ahead of the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Scaloni had announced his 26-man squad last week Friday, with the Copa America winners seen as one of the favourites in Qatar.

On Wednesday, Argentina proved their title credentials beating the United Arab Emirates 5-0.

However, on Thursday La Albiceleste suffered a double blow after Nico González and Tucu Correa had to be withdrawn due to injury.

Scaloni called up replacements Atletico Madrid winger Ángel Correa and Atlanta United’s Thiago Almada to his squad.

Argentina were drawn in Group C with Saudi Arabia, Poland and Mexico, opening their tournament against the Saudis on 22 December.
