What is Minnie Dlamini’s Age?

Minnie Dlamini is a 32-year-old South African media personality best known for her SuperSport show Homeground. She also happens to be an influencer, brand ambassador and host. She tied the knot in 2017 with Quntion Jones, but their marriage was short-lived as they divorced in 20222.

Early Life

Dlamini was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, to Jabulani and Queen Dlamini on 7 July 1990. She was born and bred in Durban before she relocated to Cape Town for her studies. She holds a degree in film, media, drama and economics. Minnie Dlamini matriculated at Northlands Girls’ High School and later enrolled at the University of Cape Town.

Education

In 2017 she made headlines when she tied the knot with Quinton Jones. They had a two-legged wedding, with their first wedding being traditional. The marriage took place in Glenn Hills, Durban North. The two later had a big wedding that was beamed on Multichoiceas. They sold their coverage rights for R6 million. However, in 2022 the two hogged headlines for the wrong reasons when they announced their split on Instagram.

Reasons behind Divorce

Minnie Dlamini’s fallout with Quinton came against a series of cheating allegations. Rumour mill has it that Jones pulled the plug with Minnie after she was reported having an extramarital affair with Edwin Sodi. In the wake of these daring rumours, Sodi took to Twitter to distance himself from the drama. In the mix of things, Mzansi was more than convinced that Sodi was pulling an act.

However, their divorce is now before the courts, and Dlamini has not weighed into the matter with reasons behind the fallout besides the one stated in their joint divorce statement.

Minnie Dlamini’s Career

On-air personality

Whilst at University, she was a presenter for LIVE. The same year, she had an opportunity to cover the “Youth Day” and “World Cup celebrations” shows. Her newfound fame as her heading a lifestyle show Mzansi Insider on SABC 1. In the mix of things, she went all out in 2012 to pursue her craze of acting.

2013 she switched to broadcasting. The darling of SABC marked her return with a slot for Soccerzone, which she co-hosted with Thomas Mlambo. The show’s format was later changed in 2016. Since then, she has been winning big, from hosting international awards to headling shows back home that includes the following:

Minnie Dlamini founded the Minnie Dlamini Foundation in 2014. The Foundation is a charity organisation established with its primary focus on giving South African girls basic needs, from good health to education. Her Foundation has fast become one of the most prominent and active celebrity foundations with a significant outreach. She has been heavily involved in helping marginalised societies of late.
