Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will be in search of a new coach after Johnny Ferreira handed in his resignation earlier today.
Ferreira was coach at Venda Football Academy last season, but despite leading the then-rookies to fourth place, his contract was not renewed.
He went on to take over at TTM at the start of the season, but has now decided to leave the club, who are currently in 9th place.
Ferreira told iDiski Times that his decision came because he wants financial stability.
“Yes, I resigned today, in the morning,” Ferreira told iDiski Times.
“I sent the chairman message, telling him that due to circumstances, I regretfully resign.
“And I want to thank him for the opportunity to coach TTM.”
Ferreira went on to explain his reasoning.
“Financial Stability is number one,” he continued.
“Number two, I thought that when I joined TTM, everybody’s got good intentions when you join a new venture. And you look at the structures, and some of the players that were recruited on the outside, I believed that there was potential. All the senior players, most of them were recruited by the chairman, himself, and worked with him in previous clubs, I was very satisfied with the recruitment process.
“There was a few guys that should’ve been surplus to requirements, but there’s always that odd number or numbers in a club that aren’t meant to perform.
“Be that is as it may, we saw the first five games, we were at the top of the table. And as soon as the challenges got a little bit tough, then of course, the results started to go against us.
“Now I’m not making excuses. But that’s just the reality of what’s transpired. And of course, the more the club promised the undertaking to fulfil their financial obligations, the more they got behind, eventually, it became very difficult for me to motivate the players, you can imagine two months, I don’t believe it was a three month or four month period, I don’t believe that. I think it was two months.
“And the result is a reflection of what was happening behind the scenes.”
