Monnapule Saleng is pleased to have received a second Bafana Bafana call-up after he was named in the squad that will face Mozambique and Angola in the upcoming friendlies.
The on fire Saleng has been crucial for the Buccaneers this season as he helped deliver the MTN8 trophy. The 24-year-old finished as the top goal scorer of the competition scoring three goals, two against Mamelodi Sundowns and one in the final against AmaZulu FC.
The Orlando Pirates winger spent last season on loan at Swallows FC, and after a successful loan spell, the Buccaneers kept him for this season and he never disappointed as he kept on delivering.
Saleng has repaid Jose Riveiro’s faith in him scoring five goals in all competitions including that goal that delivered the MTN8 trophy.
“Being called up to the national team is something that everybody gets happy about,” Saleng told SAFA media.
“And I’m also happy to be here in the national team. Because I was called up to the Cosafa Cup and I had to work hard to come back into the team.
“I think being in the national team is something everybody craves for, just to be part of the team. I am happy and my teammates are also happy for me. I’m happy.”
