Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela says that if the team continues to believe in the process, the club can become a real force under Jose Riveiro.

Riveiro and Pirates lifted their first trophy last week, as the Buccaneers defeated AmaZulu in the MTN8 Final.

Maela unfortunately missed out on playing in the game due to injury, but was on hand to celebrate with the team and lift the trophy after the final whistle.

Speaking after the MTN8 final, Maela said he feels that if they can remain consistent, Pirates can become a force under Riveiro.

“Every team needs to be consistent for it to achieve,” Maela said.

“We have been consistent in this campaign and remember the coach Jose Riveiro is fairly new here.

“I think it must be only his fourth month, so we will get to that level where we play consistently and we become unstoppable. We believe in the process, but it will take time.”
