KwaZulu-Natal: At 13H58 Sunday morning, Netcare 911 responded to a falls case at a deserted area of Umzumbe near Hibberdene on the South Coast.
Reports indicate that an adult male lost control of his quad bike, resulting in a roll-over. The patient, an adult male, was thrown from the bike and found six meters down a steep embankment.
His biking partner, who was with him at the time had managed to alert ems. When medics arrived on the scene they found the patient in severe pain with suspected spinal injuries.
The man was treated for his injuries by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner and once stabilised was transported by ambulance to hospital for further care.
