Ntsiki Mazwai pleads with fans for help paying DJ Euphonik after losing court case

Outspoken poet Ntsiki Mazwai has called on her supporters to help her foot the bill after losing a defamation case against DJ Euphonik.

Reports claim Mazwai has been ordered to pay around R200,000 in legal costs, a sum she says she cannot handle on her own.

On Tuesday, 19 August 2025, Mazwai took to her X (formerly Twitter) page to share a heartfelt video where she appealed for donations.

She also used the moment to remind fans that her birthday is around the corner, jokingly asking that her “gifts” come in the form of contributions toward her legal fees.

“Good morning. It’s my birthday on 3 September. May I start collecting blessings 🙏🏿❤️ Thank you to everyone in the DMs for the endless support. To the big sisters who send me money to get massages to make me feel better, I appreciate you so much,” she wrote in the caption.

In the video, Mazwai opened up about how the court battle had taken a toll on her and asked those willing to assist to send money directly to her.

“You saw my business being splattered in the streets. I’m going to put my e-mail address on here. Anybody who wants to donate to the legal bills, I’m going to put my e-mail address there,” she explained.

She assured her followers that all the funds would go directly to DJ Euphonik’s legal representatives and even offered to share their banking details for those who preferred paying the lawyers directly.

“I promise to pass over that money to those lawyers. Otherwise, you can email me, I can give you their banking details, and then you send me the proof of payment, and we keep it moving, guys. It doesn’t have to be the end of the world. We’re gonna pay bit by bit and continue living our life, continue building the MOYA podcast,” Mazwai said.

The poet later confirmed that she had already received her first donation and expressed gratitude to her fans for standing by her through the ordeal.

Good morning….its my birthday on 3 September….may I start collecting blessings🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️thank you to everyone in the DMs for the endless support.
