Ncikazi – I’m A Loyal Employee Of Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi will not allow AmaZulu win the MTN8 trophy at his expense.

Ncikazi wants to cement history to see Golden Arrows be the only club from KwaZulu-Natal to have won the MTN8, while AmaZulu are gunning for their first.

The former Maritzburg United coach was the assistant coach to Manqoba Mnqgithi when Arrows crushed Ajax Cape Town 6-0 at Orlando Stadium in 2009/10 season.

Still today, that is the biggest score line in the PSL history when it comes to knockout cup final competitions.

Pirates will be home the team when they host AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (18:00).

The Soweto giants will be looking to become the most successful club to have won it four times since MTN took over as the sponsorship in 2008. Another incentive is that Pirates, if they win it for the fourth time, they will keep the current MTN8 trophy forever. The PSL will have a new trophy next season.

“I’m a loyal employee of Orlando Pirates,” said Ncikazi at the press conference in Durban.

“My professionalism says I must be loyal to the team. As a professional, I’m working for Orlando Pirates – I’m not territorial.

“Whether the (opposition) team is my neighbor, next door or my province, as long as I’m the employee wants to beat them and the profession demands that, I will do so.

“Right now I’m employed by Orlando Pirates and I expect Orlando Pirates to beat AmaZulu, that’s all that matters to me.”

When Arrows annihilated Ajax Cape Town then, George Maluleka, now at Usuthu, was in that side on the day.
