Carl Niehaus pays lobola for his 27-year old bride

Former spokesman for the ANC, Carl Niehaus is one happy man after paying lobola for his 27-year old bride.

The 62-year old author shared images of his lobola negotiations with his followers over the weekend.

Niehaus’ bride, Noluthando Mdluli had previously shared how she was “blown away by Niehaus’ caring, kind and friendly personality when they met.

The couple met at the Rosebank Mall, in Johannesburg two years ago where Mdluli works as a sales assistant.

It is reported that Niehaus’ 27-year old bride has a child from a previous relationship.

The huge age difference does not bother the couple however, despite backlash on social media over their union.

As reported by the Citizen, Mdluli said she was hesitant to date Carl Niehaus because he’s white. She had previously never dated outside her race but soon learnt that the suspended uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association spokesman is a genuine person.

Their relationship isn’t bound by race nor age and Niehaus refused to divulge how much he paid for his blushing bride.

“That is not a public matter. I announced that I paid lobola, not the amount. How much I paid is honestly none of your business.”
