She is topping trends for the wrong reasons. Zodwa Wabantu swindles R12 000 from Mpumalanga promoter, Mzansi provoked. She has the plug and the bling too. Zodwa Wabantu’s illustrious career seems to be crumbling. No doubt her woes have taken a knock on her career that spans for years. She has a rags-to-riches story to tell, after all. Despite being thrust into the limelight with Afrotainment, she went on to dump DJ Tira’s label and went solo.
Her exit saw her having newfound fame, making her one of the most followed bubbly dancers in Mzansi and Africa. In the wake of fame, gigs started flooding her way. She snubbed several promoters in the mix of things and failed to honour her end. This has fast become her trend, and many event organisers have distanced themselves from her.
Wonders never cease to amaze when it comes to drama regarding Wabantu. She is topping the trends as she owes an event organiser some money. Despite being paid, she pulled a no-show after she booked. Reports have it that Zodwa Wabantu is again accused of not pitching for an event.
The event was slated for Mpumalanga. Sibusiso Mthombeni made a down payment of R12 000 to Zodwa Wabantu.
“I am beyond angry. I trusted her because she didn’t seem like a person who would take my money and run. What makes me angrier is that I didn’t call her. She called me to ask if I could hook her up with two gigs in Mpumalanga. The one was in Ermelo and she came late but in Bethal she just didn’t pitch up. If I couldn’t defend myself, I would have been beaten by the club owners because of her no-show,” he told the publication.
Earlier this year, she was shocked when she revealed that her booking fee was R35 000. She left Mzansi shellshocked when she revealed that she has had 11 abortions which she says she does not regret having. She revealed this during her controversial reality show Zodwa: Uncensored.
“I had four abortions. So me to you, the number of abortions I’ve done in my entire life is about 11. I had the abortions because I was stout and didn’t condomise. I don’t have any regrets. There’s no one who can judge me or put judgment on my life. My truth is with God; I can die anytime if I’ve told my truth.” She then added, “People should be checking themselves out.”
