Pirates Announce Derby Starting XI

Orlando Pirates have announced their starting line-up for this afternoon’s Soweto Derby in an eagerly awaited DStv Premiership fixture at FNB Stadium.

The Buccaneers enter the game as the form side after beating Mamelodi Sundowns on their way to the MTN8 final.

The Sea Robbers are on four-match unbeaten run following their win against Lamontville Golden Arrows and playing two draws withAmaZulu FC and Richards Bay.

Pirates are coming to this game with one point ahead of Chiefs, having collected 19 points from 12 games so far.

However, they have lost the last three successive derbies, with Chiefs completing the double over their bitter rivals last season.

It’s the 176th derby in history, with Pirates winning just 44 in comparison to Chiefs’ 72 victories. Today, though, the Buccaneers will miss the suspended Miguel Timm.
