Police minister Bheki Cele says despite reports of a possible terror attack in Sandton this weekend, there has been no evidence to support this claim.

Cele has assured South Africans that all events will be safe this weekend.

Earlier this week the US Embassy released a vague notice, informing its staff of a possible terrorist attack on Saturday 29 October.

Meanwhile, the National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure has condemned the spreading of fake news regarding an imminent terror attack in South Africa.
