Besides pretending to be a preacher on Tik Tok, Phindile Gwala is a pastor child who grew up in a Christian home. While growing up, her parents introduced her to ministering the word of God at churches. When she is at her church, she will be given the platform to share the word of God. Although she is not an ordained pastor, she is a good preacher with many testimonies to her preaching.
During an interview with Drum Magazine in 2017, the actress revealed that she is a respected figure at her church who teaches the word of God. In her own words, she said:
Am actually the daughter of two pastors and part of the time l spend it behind the pulpit preaching. “I preach on certain Sundays. I started last year in February. My parents are pastors, not the famous pastors or ones that give you snakes. It’s not one of those churches. Its an old fashioned church. I preach in Ecaleni, Tembisa and I am there every Sunday except when I am working out of town,”
