Kaizer Chiefs’ perfect run under Ben Youssef in numbers

Kaizer Chiefs have won all four of their matches without conceding under assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef.

He is currently in charge of Amakhosi in the absence of head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who has since returned to Tunisia to be with his wife.

The club confirmed last week that their coach would fly home to attend to his wife, who was involved in a serious accident. At this stage, it is unknown when Nabi will return to Chiefs.

What is Ben Youssef’s record as Kaizer Chiefs coach?

Ben Youssef is no stranger to leading Amakhosi, as he did so twice last season when Nabi was suspended. The former Young Africans assistant coach led Chiefs to a 1-0 win over Sekhukhune and also a 4-0 victory against Free Agents FC in the Nedbank Cup.

Speaking to the media this week, Nabi’s other assistant Cedric Kaze, revealed that the technical team has always been communicating with the Kaizer Chiefs head coach.

I’ll say that we are always in contact with the head coach. But he trusts our experience, he trusts our knowledge too,” he said.

“We are the people who are on the field every day, and the people who are on the field are those who feel the vibe. We see every day what is happening, the training sessions, who can do what, and who can do the different combinations as well. He trusts us to make the line-up, but as the head coach, he’s also informed daily.”

It remains to be seen if Ben Youssef will be in charge of Kaizer Chiefs’ next match. Some fans feel that Nabi should not return as head coach, but the club need to find him another position.

Under Ben Youssef, Amakhosi have scored eight and are yet to concede in four matches. His 100% record is impressive and could be a candidate for the top job should Nabi leave.

Will Nabi return?
