Former Post Office CEO regrets resigning

Former Post Office CEO Mark Barnes says he regrets resigning from the job. He resigned in 2019 after just over three years at the helm.

Talking to JJ Tabane on Power to Truth, Barnes said when government was making changes, he should have stayed and fought for what he believed in.

“I saw a world driven by a centralised data system, where every counter at the Post Office was a channel between the state and the people of South Africa,” he said.

“They came to me one morning and said they’re gonna take away the bank and I said no. I shouldn’t have resigned, I should have stayed there and fought. I regret that.
