It was just Spurs’ second game at home, after a controversial loss to JDR Stars three weeks ago, but a brace from Ashley Cupido sealed the three points for Bartlett’s team, who move up to eighth with the win.
“Well, we knew it was gonna be a tough game, they’re a team, that wants to keep possession, they want to move it around,” Bartlett told iDiski Times.
“So I actually said to the players, I prefer teams like that instead of a Tuks, where the ball spends much of the time in the air. So we knew what we had to do. It’s nice, like you said, it’s the first home victory, our second game at home.
“So I think it’s something for us to build on, we’ve got a game in a couple of days, again, against our former rivals Cape Town All Stars, now only All Stars. So we’ve got to see obviously how the players can recover and get the best out of them again.”
Spurs face All Stars on Wednesday at the Tsakane Stadium.

Bartlett was obviously happy with the contribution of Cupido, and says the striker, who represented Bafana Bafana in the recent Cosafa Cup, has set himself targets for the season.
“The thing is we try and work with everyone, but he set himself a goal,” Bartlett said.
“He wants to score more goals. So for me, it’s just to help from that aspect and to see what more I can improve. And we work on a daily basis with everyone. So for him, I think he’s shown that desire from preseason, he wants to score more goals.
“And it’s a good thing for us, obviously, it will benefit us in the long run, where we will get more points. But the good thing that I’m very happy about today is the fact that we had a clean sheet, Too many times we go behind.
“And I said to the players, our priority today is not to concede, we’ll get opportunities and we will score so that to me is something to work on more, the more we can stay tight and not concede, the better chance we’ll have of winning games.”
