Polygamist Musa Mseleku breaks down how much groceries cost in his household

Reality Television star Musa Mseleku has been in the headlines lately because of his private life and famous polygamous family. For some reason, Mzansi does not have a soft spot for the man and has celebrated his falls a lot in the past years. Recently he made news after he was rumoured to have taken in a fifth wife, leaving Mzansi questioning how much he spends on groceries in his household with his many wives and kids.

In a video shared on TikTok, Uthando Nesthembu was in an interview when he got asked the question of how much he uses to buy groceries for his big family each month. This was after the rumours of him getting a fifth wife spread on the internet, but they were rubbished later when it was discovered that it was Thobile’s wedding.

In his response, Musa Mseleku said they use at least R30 000 for groceries alone, and he shares how he gives his wives money. Musa says that he promotes equality in his household, and everyone brings cash to the table for the family’s day-to-day survival. Musa talks about how the money he gives each wife for her groceries is not the same for all of them and explains how he comes to different figures.

He goes on to say that each wife has a different number of kids, so it would be unfair to give them the same amount. This is because one with more kids would want more loaves of bread than the one who does not have any kids. Also, he does not buy in bulk for everyone because his wives prefer different brands, so he lets them get what they want to avoid conflict.

His video earned different reactions. The public and many seem to agree that men with money can only afford a peaceful polygamous marriage. Others can not help but wonder how much Musa uses for all the other bills like electricity, water, school fees and all the other bills that a functional family incurs. He also has been applauded by many fans for the way he runs his family and does not have any problems or complaints from his wives.

Recently Musa was attacked by Tweeps after they said that he loves and shows favouritism to MaKhumalo more than his other wives. He appears with her in public more than the other three older wives and posts pictures with her more than the others. However, from his interview, Musa has proved that he treats all of them fairly and respectfully.
