History
The match will be the 61st Soweto derby league match since the professional era kicked off in the 1996/97 season.
Incredibly, of the previous 60 matches, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have each won 18 matches, while 24 clashes ended in stalemates.
Equally incredibly, only one of the last 15 matches has ended in a draw – and that was the most recent match in April 2026.
Unbeaten
Heading into the match, both sides are unbeaten in the league after eight matches.
The Buccaneers are in second place in the standings, while the Glamour Boys are in fifth. Eight points separates the sides.
