“OUR FAMILY IS STILL HEARTBROKEN”, TSHUMA’S WIFE’S FAMILY SPEAKS OUT
A family member of Nothabo Zandile Tshuma has spoken emotionally following today, Thursday’s court proceedings involving her husband, Ndodana Tshuma, at the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.
The family member expressed hope that Tshuma would be extradited to the United Kingdom to face three murder charges relating to the deaths of his wife and their two daughters.
“Her parents are heartbroken. Her sister is heartbroken,” she said, describing the ongoing pain experienced by the family.
She also raised concern about Tshuma’s previous claim that he could not remember signing a plea and sentencing agreement in his South African case.
Tshuma’s extradition has been delayed while the local charges against him, relating to the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition and contravening the Immigration Act, are dealt with.
At his previous appearance on 21 October, the defence requested more time to consult with Tshuma after he told his lawyer that he could not remember signing the agreement, despite having previously pleaded guilty to the charges.
Tshuma is wanted in the UK in connection with the deaths of Nothabo, 15-year-old Natalie and five-year-old Nala, whose bodies were discovered at their family home in Bedfordshire in July.
South African authorities intend to extradite him to the UK once the local proceedings have been finalised.
“We really need closure. We really need this to be put to bed,” the family member said.
The matter has been postponed to 10th November 2026.
