Late Bafana Bafana Star Jayden Adams Honoured at 2026 Ballon d’Or Ceremony
The late Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana midfielder Jayden Adams was honoured during the 2026 #BallonDor ceremony held in London on Monday night, 26 October.
Adams was remembered during a special tribute to football figures who died this year, alongside legends Kevin Keegan and Franco Baresi.
The 25-year-old midfielder died in July 2026, just weeks after representing South Africa at the FIFA World Cup, where he featured in all three of Bafana Bafana’s group-stage matches.
His inclusion in the tribute recognised his contribution to South African football on one of the sport’s biggest international stages.s
