Solomons – Why I Chose Chiefs Over Royal AM

Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons has insisted he was always going to pick the Amakhosi over Royal AM when asked about the controversy around his move.

Solomons, 23, was unveiled by Chiefs at the end of June but he was initially been involved a transfer between his former club Swallows and Royal AM, with it being alleged that the Dube Birds received R1.5-million for the services of the player and two of his teammates, namely Khetukuthula Ndlovu and Ruzaigh Gamildien.

However, while Ndlovu and Gamildien have joined the KZN outfit, Solomons  signed a four-year deal with the Chiefs, insisting he wasn’t going to miss out on his dream move.

“I mean who wouldn’t choose to come to Chiefs, I mean this is one of the biggest teams in Africa. So for me, this is always on the agenda,” Solomons told the reporters.

“I never gave up on the dream to come to the Chiefs and play. The Royal AM thing happened but for me, I was always gonna choose Kaizer Chiefs over Royal AM.

“There’s always going to be pressure when you play for Kaizer Chiefs but it’s how you deal with the pressure. You know we haven’t been consistent at all but it’s something that we can work on.

“I think we really find our identity now so I think as time goes on we will get more consistent and results will come away.”

Zwane’s side continues its preparations for the MTN8 semi-final against AmaZulu FC, it won’t be the first these two sides face each. They recently played in the DStv Premiership and they played a goalless draw.
