Family Still Searching For Three-Year-Old Milano Nearly Four Months After Disappearance

The family of three-year-old Milano Jayson Tladi is still waiting for answers nearly four months after he disappeared in Johannesburg South, Missing in Southern Africa (MISA) NPC said on Friday, 23 October 2026.

Milano was last seen on 30 June near Glenesk Welfare Park, close to his home, while playing outside with other children. He was barefoot and wearing a blue tracksuit, a jersey and Springbok pants.

He turned three on 1 October, with his whereabouts still unknown.

SAPS and emergency teams searched the surrounding area, including Wemmer Pan Dam, amid concerns that he may have entered the water. The dam search was later suspended after no evidence linked his disappearance to the water. Milano remains missing.

Wendy Pascoe, MISA’s director and founder and an investigator on the case, said the organisation remained committed to supporting efforts to find him.

“Almost 120 days have passed since Milano disappeared, and his family is still waiting for their little boy to come home,” Pascoe said.

“No family should have to live with this kind of uncertainty. We cannot allow the passing of time to make people forget about him.”

MISA is working with authorities, including the SAPS Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit in Johannesburg Central. Captain Mpane Mpiko is the investigating officer.

The organisation urged the public to share Milano’s missing-child alert responsibly and report any information, no matter how small, directly to SAPS or the investigating officer.

Pascoe warned against spreading rumours, unverified claims or accusations, saying these could complicate the investigation and cause further distress. She also urged members of the public not to confront anyone or conduct their own investigations.

“Milano is not just another missing-person case. He is a little boy whose family loves him and is desperately waiting for him to come home,” she said.

“We have not forgotten him, and we will continue to support efforts to find him.”

Anyone with information about Milano’s whereabouts is urged to contact SAPS or Captain Mpane
