Golden Arrows’ Stunning Double Move: Dladla Out, Ncikazi In
Durban-based Betway Premiership club Golden Arrows have sacked Pitso Dladla and, minutes later, welcomed Mandla Ncikazi ‘back home’.
Arrows wasted no time on Thursday afternoon, pulling off a coaching switch that was widely expected after Orlando Pirates revealed that Ncikazi had asked to leave for a job elsewhere.
Arrows management were reportedly unhappy with the team’s regression under Dladla and finally pulled the trigger.
“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club and Coach Pitso Dladla have agreed to part ways effective immediately,” Abafana Bes’thende said in a short statement.
“The club would like to thank coach Dladla for his efforts, commitment and dedication during his tenure at the club.”
Then came the announcement that Arrows fans were waiting for. Ncikazi returns for a second stint, this time as head coach.
“Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club is delighted to welcome back coach Mandla Ncikazi who returns to Abafana Bes’thende to take the reins as Head Coach,” the club said.
“A familiar face, a proud son of the club and a man who understands the culture and traditions of the club.”
The club says it is looking forward to “benefiting from his immense knowledge and experience attained over the course of a long and successful career.”
“We look forward to this new chapter as we unite behind Coach Ncikazi and the journey ahead.
“Sthende Nation welcomes you back coach. Home is where it all begins. Siyakwamukela ekhaya, Mqeqeshi (We welcome you home coach).”.
