The initiative, brought to families by the Bokang Montjane Foundation, aims to help parents who suspect their children may be autistic or experiencing developmental delays access screening and support from professionals.
In a call to families, Bokang urged parents to bring their children to the centre to consult with specialists who can help them understand their children’s developmental needs and guide them towards appropriate support.
Free screening for children
The initiative offers families access to a speech therapist, occupational therapist and social worker who can provide guidance and help parents determine the next steps if they have concerns about their children’s development.
Parents who suspect their children may be autistic or experiencing developmental delays are encouraged to make use of the opportunity.
Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that can affect communication, social interaction and behaviour in different ways. Developmental delays can also affect areas such as speech, movement, learning and social skills.
Seeking professional guidance can help parents better understand their children’s needs and explore suitable interventions and support services.
