Players Who Could Leave Sundowns On Deadline Day

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena confirmed the club needs to offload a few players before the transfer deadline, iDiski Times take a look at the possibilities.

Promise Mkhuma, who was said to be nearing a loan deal to Swallows before their FIFA transfer ban, has in fact been released from the club, this website can confirm he received his clearance on July. The 22-year-old is still training with Swallows and is hoping to able to be registered if or when the ban is lifted.

The likes of Gift Motupa, Jody February, Katlego Mohamme are all still training with the first team. Despite being considered as backup players they look likely to remain at the club.

The injury of Luvuyo Phewa which saw him go under the knife has seen him unable to train over the past month and it’s unlikely any deal would be struck for the playmaker today.

Meanwhile, Soumahoro Bangaly has also been released since his loan move from SuperSport United expired at the end of last season.

The one player who has made it clear he wants to leave, Kermit Erasmus, has not been training with the first team for the past week. And on Sunday he informed the technical staff he would not be playing against Township Rollers in the friendly as he was not brought to the club to play friendlies.

The likes of Cape Town City were said to have been one of several clubs offered to sign him but with a package believed to be in the region of R7 million per annum at Masandawana, teams have been put off on signing him permanently.

With a loan deal now seemingly the only possibility to exit the club, Erasmus has expressed his unhappiness at the situation, with time ticking in order to solve the situation.

Meanwhile, the one deal that is most likely to be confirmed is the loan of Lyle Lakay to Cape Town City after the reigning DStv Premiership Defender of the Season arrived in the Mother City on Wednesday, as reported by iDiski Times.
