Fadlu Davids’ agent Rasthoem Simons has denied suggestions that his client held talks with AmaZulu.
Davids, 41, has been without a job since leaving Orlando Pirates at the end of last season.
He spent three years at Orlando Stadium, initially serving as assistant under Rulani Mokwena, Milutin Sredojevic and Josef Zinnbauer before being named co-head coach alongside Mandla Ncikazi in the 2021/22 campaign.
Pirates came close to lifting the CAF Confederations Cup and could’ve finished second in the DStv Premiership but a defeat on penalties and running out of steam in their final three league games turned the season into a disappointment for the club.
While Davids has been linked to several local jobs, iDiski Times has it on good authority that he is waiting for the right project. However, recent reports in local media have linked him with the position at AmaZulu and some claimed he has had talks with club president Sandile Zungu, while Brandon Truter is still in charge.
Davids, though, has now denied any contact with Usuthu in a statement via his agent, insisting he is respecting his fellow coach Brandon Truter.
“There has been alot of speculation around Fadlu Davids and Amazulu. I can confirm that we have had no contact with the club.
“Fadlu respects clubs and their processes and even though he is on the market does not want to be seen as a factor in a clubs current situation.
“Hence we reject the speculation. We maintain that the coach’s next role will fit in line with his overall career plan.

Truter has been the subject of scrutiny in recent weeks over the club’s style of play, but with a congested fixture list and several of his off-season signings still not fully match- fit, patience looks set to be exercised for the next few weeks after domestic football returns in October, this publication understands.
