MOLEKETLA– A 33-year-old mother in Bolobedu South is full of mixed emotions after giving birth to healthy set of triplets at Mankweng Hospital on Monday, 29 August 2022.

Acoording to Tzaneen Voice, the unemployed, Flora Mashai and her partner, Tshepo Lefohle (40) from Moleketla Village just outside Tzaneen, have been blessed with two boys and one girl named Tshepiso, Tshepang and Tsiamo, who have just turned four weeks on Monday, September 19.

According to Mashai, she discovered that she was pregnant with tripplets in her second trimester and she further mentioned that she did not believe the news.

The financially struggling mother told Tzaneen Voice that they are delighted to have been blessed with the triplets, however the babies’ financial demands are weighing them down, as the father’s salary is insufficient to take care of their needs.

She further explained that her partner’s salary is not enough because the entire family depends on it.

“Each child is changed diapers three times a day and when it comes to formula milk, they consume a lot. I am rotating them with breast feeding, while others are being fed with formula milk. It has been four weeks since they are born, but we are already struggling to fully care for them” the mother said.

The couple also have three other children aged 4, 6 and 8. She further mentioned that the three children stay with their 58-year-old grandmother who is not yet a beneficiary to old-age grant.

The couple pleads with the public to assist with the babies’ basic needs such as a formula milk and diapers.
