Gabriela Salgado scored four goals while Nompumeleo Nyandeni grabbed a hattrick as JVW Girls ran a 9-1 riot over rookies City Lads in the Hollywoodbets Super League this past weekend.

The other two goals came from Lerato Makhanya and Erin Herz. The result sees the Blue Diamonds remain in second position on the log with 44 points from 18 matches, while Lads are third from bottom with 12 points in 19 encounters.

University of Western Cape (UWC) held defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies to 1-1 draw to maintain their fourth spot on the table with 38 points from 18 games, while Sundowns remain at the top of the standings with 46 points in 17 outings.

UWC are the only side to have denied the African champions points so far this season, after their 2-0 win in the first round.

Meanwhile, Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) stayed in third place following their 2-1 victory away at Thunderbirds Ladies. TUT has 42 points in 20 matches while Thunderbirds dropped to ninth position with 29 points from the same number of games.
