Kwaito legend celebrates major milestone

Kwaito icon Thebe is gearing up for a major career milestone as he celebrates three decades in the music industry with a spectacular event, The Legend Tour.

The celebration will take place on 27 September at The Ridge Casino in Emalahleni, promising a night packed with nostalgia and electrifying performances.

Thebe, who rose to fame in the 90s with his distinctive sound and chart-topping hits, has cemented his place as one of the genre’s most influential figures.

To mark the occasion, he will be joined by a powerhouse line-up of industry greats, including Mdu Masilela, Zola, Professor, Unathi, DJ Cleo, Oskido and DJ Ganyani.

Speaking about the upcoming show, Thebe said the tour is bigger than just one artist.

“This tour is not just about me, it’s a celebration of our music culture, the fans who’ve been with us through the years, and the legacy of kwaito and South African sounds,” he shared.

The night will feature a mix of live performances, DJ sets and special tributes, creating a fitting salute to 30 years of rhythm, resilience and the enduring magic of South African music.
