The milestone has allowed fans to look back at a defining chapter in the former beauty queen’s career and celebrate how far she has come since her time as a contestant.

A look back at Miss Universe 2011

Bokang was crowned Miss South Africa in 2010, earning the opportunity to represent the country at both Miss Universe and Miss World in 2011.

Miss Universe 2011 was held on 12 September 2011 at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil, marking the 60th anniversary of the international pageant.

Fifteen years later, a throwback video shared by The Pageant Prince revisited Bokang’s appearance at the competition, showing her being introduced on the international stage while proudly representing South Africa.

Bokang responded to the nostalgic post in the comments, simply writing, “Thank you so much,” alongside heart emojis and the South African flag.

The moment allowed pageant fans to revisit an important part of her career and celebrate the legacy she has built since becoming Miss South Africa.

From Miss South Africa to the international stage

Bokang’s pageant journey extended well beyond Miss Universe.

Before winning Miss South Africa, she competed at Miss Earth 2007, where she reached the Top 16, and later participated in Miss International 2009.

Following her Miss Universe appearance, she went on to achieve a notable result at Miss World 2011, reaching the Top 7 and being named Miss World Africa.

A new chapter in pageantry

Today, Bokang remains closely connected to the beauty pageant industry. She has taken on a leadership role as a national director for Miss Universe South Africa and Miss World South Africa.

Her journey from competing for the crown to helping shape the next generation of pageant contestants highlights how her relationship with the industry has evolved.
