𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗵’𝘀 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲
The entertainment and business interests of Tshwane Metro Police Department officer Peter “Gagash” Nonyane have come under scrutiny following revelations made during his unsuccessful bail application.
Nonyane, 36, told the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court that he earned approximately R80,000 a week from entertainment-related activities, including MC work, artist bookings and his involvement in a Pretoria lifestyle nightclub.
Amid his continued detention, his close friend Amukelani “Chavi C” Chavalala has announced that he has taken over responsibilities at Seventeen Lifestyle.
“New clothes, new responsibility and the same focus,” Chavalala wrote on social media on Friday.
Chavi C is an MC and entertainment personality from Malamulele. He was also the master of ceremonies at Nonyane’s traditional wedding to attorney Charlotte Tibana in 2024.
Nonyane and Tibana face 43 charges, including fraud, theft and money laundering, relating to alleged transactions involving deceased estates.
The State alleges that about R6 million was unlawfully taken from estate accounts and used for various purposes, including the purchase of assets.
Nonyane maintained that his entertainment income was legitimate.
The Polokwane Magistrate’s Court denied bail to Nonyane and Tibana on 4 September 2026, with the State arguing that they could interfere with witnesses and the investigation.
The matter has been postponed to 6 November 2026 for further investigation.
The allegations against the couple have not been proven in court, and they remain presumed innocent until convicted.
