Banyana Banyana star Noxolo Cesane has secured a move to Europe from the Hollywoodbets Super League side, the University of the Western Cape.

The 21-year-old forward has been one of the standout players in the league and has been an ever-present figure in the senior women’s national team.

Cesane joins French club Stade De Reims on a two year contract.

She played a starring role in Morocco back in July as they lifted their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title and caught they eye with her incredible work-rate and natural skill.

Banyana coach Desiree Ellis hinted last week that she’s ‘waiting’ for a few moves to materialise for her WAFCON winners to land moves abroad and Cesane now follows the likes of Thembi Kgatlana to have sealed a move from UWC to further themselves abroad.

She will now be hoping to cement her place in the club ahead of the 2023 FIFA World Cup which is set to be held in Australia and New Zealand.

Cesane’s first official words to her new club were posted on their official website – ““ Hello everyone. I am very happy to join the Club for the next two seasons. I can’t wait to start on the pitch, to work with my teammates and to meet you! See you on Sunday in Delaune to face OL  ”
