Kaizer Chiefs latest rumours: Ngcobo, Monyane, Phili

Today’s Kaizer Chiefs news involves the latest transfer rumours as well as a whip-around on injury news affecting the club’s next fixtures.

Ngcobo’s time at Kaizer Chiefs is surely up

Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s dismal Chiefs stats merit closer observation. The attacking midfielder hasn’t managed more than two goals in a single season since the 2020-21 campaign. He’s only scored two goals in his last three Betway Premiership seasons combined, and wasn’t involved at all against Sundowns in a recent 1-1 draw. The writing could be on the wall for Mshini after nine years in the senior side. The 26-year-old joined the first team in 2017 from the youth setup. He’s made 129 appearances in the jersey, scoring eight goals and supplying three assists.

Mixed news on the injury front for Kaizer Chiefs

Bad news for Chiefs fans. Impressive new signing Langelihle Phili will miss around eight weeks with an ankle injury sustained in training. Thabiso Monyane, recently a fixture in the first team, will be out for four weeks. On the plus side, defensive quartet Bradley Cross, Paseka Mako, Kabelo Nkgwesa and Reeve Frosler are all nearing returns. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo is fit, but hasn’t played a single minute in the club’s last three fixtures.

With Phili and Monyane out for the foreseeable future, what’s your ideal starting XI in the coming weeks, Chiefs fans? Let us know by clicking the red comments banner below 🙂
