The Isithembiso actress shared the deeply personal details in a candid testimony, explaining that she experienced severe emotional struggles despite being at a point in her career when she believed she should have been happy.

‘I really wanted to end it all’

Nandi revealed that her mental health struggles lasted for about two years and that she made several attempts to end her life. She said she tried different ways of harming herself and recalled reaching a point where she felt exhausted and wanted her suffering to end.

“I was at a point where I was tired, and I really wanted to end it all because I was supposed to be happy but I wasn’t happy,” she said.

The actress also described experiencing suicidal thoughts while living alone in her apartment.

Her revelations highlight the difference between someone’s public life and what they may be experiencing privately. Although Nandi was building her career, she said she was struggling emotionally behind the scenes.

‘I saw Jesus in my apartment’

Nandi also spoke about what she described as a profound spiritual experience during one of her darkest moments.

According to the actress, she saw Jesus in her apartment and felt that the encounter gave her hope that she would eventually overcome what she was going through.

“I saw Jesus in my apartment that night,” she said, describing the experience as a moment when everything around her seemed to stand still.

She said the experience did not immediately make her problems disappear, but it gave her reassurance that she would eventually be okay.

Faith became an important part of her healing

Nandi has been open about her Christian faith and said her relationship with God became central to her journey.

She described her baptism as an important turning point and said that, since then, she has not experienced suicidal thoughts or panic attacks in the same way.

“I’ve been set free from anxiety and depression,” she said.

The actress now hopes that sharing her experience can encourage other people who may be silently struggling.

A message of hope

Nandi encouraged people experiencing difficult periods in their lives not to give up.

While her testimony is rooted in her Christian faith, her decision to speak publicly about her mental health struggles also opens up an important conversation about how people can seek support when they are overwhelmed.
