South African reality TV star and social media personality Inno Morolong has spoken out after private intimate footage involving her was circulated online without her consent.

Inno addressed the matter publicly on social media, saying that she did not authorise the recording, publication or distribution of the content and warning those responsible that legal action would follow.

Inno condemns circulation of private footage

In a statement, Inno made it clear that she does not consent to the sharing of the private material.

The Diamonds and Dolls star acknowledged that being a public figure means her life can attract public attention, but stressed that this does not remove her right to privacy, dignity and personal boundaries.

She also highlighted the impact the situation has had on her family, describing the experience of seeing private content circulated publicly as deeply distressing.

Inno urged members of the public not to download, save, share or redistribute the footage.

Legal action on the cards

According to Inno, her legal team is working to identify the people involved in circulating the material.

News24 reported that she warned that anyone found to be sharing, reposting, publishing, selling or otherwise distributing the content could face legal consequences.

The situation has also renewed conversations around the dangers of image-based abuse and the unauthorised distribution of intimate content online.

A wider issue of online privacy

The incident highlights the vulnerability of private individuals and public figures whose intimate content is shared without their permission.

South African law provides legal protections against the non-consensual distribution of intimate images. The Cybercrimes Act and Films and Publications Amendment Act contain provisions that can apply to the distribution of intimate material without consent.

Inno’s case therefore goes beyond the personal impact on the reality star, highlighting the consequences of sharing private material without permission.

Inno Morolong asks the public to stop sharing

Rather than engaging with the leaked material, Morolong has called on the public to respect her privacy and that of her family. She has specifically asked people not to download, save or redistribute the videos.

Media24’s DRUM also chose not to describe or link to the material, citing respect for Inno’s privacy.

As her legal team investigates, the focus is now on identifying those responsible for the alleged unauthorised distribution. For Inno, the message is clear: being in the public eye does not mean giving up the right to privacy.

The matter remains ongoing, with potential legal action expected against those found to have participated in the distribution of the private footage.
