R800 000 worth of drugs seized by Hawks

Drugs with an estimated street value of R800,000 have been confiscated in Bellville in the Western Cape.

The Hawks arrested a 40-year-old suspect alongside the N1 highway near Goodwood Prison.

They were responding to information about a vehicle en route to Cape Town suspected to be carrying drugs.

Over 20,000 mandrax tablets were found concealed in a tog bag.

The suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday.
