Police were dispatched to gossip blogger Perez Hilton’s home in Miami when several calls were placed regarding his worrying activities on a TikTok livestream on Tuesday.
In the graphic video, Hilton was reportedly naked and covered from his head down in something that resembles blood.
Reports say Hilton appeared to be undergoing a mental breakdown, while cutting himself with an object.

Newsweek reports that a police statement said that after it was confirmed that the 48-year-old father of three was alone in the home, deputies decided to “tactically disengage while continuing to monitor the situation… In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication…Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public.”
Earlier this year, Hilton had a health scare where he spent weeks in hospital following him taking over-the-counter flu medication on an empty stomach for a week. This caused a severe stomach ulcer that perforated, leading to life-threatening sepsis, emergency laparoscopic surgery, and extensive internal infections.
