Sekhukhune United mentor Kaitano Tembo hailed Victor Letsoalo after the forward got off the mark in their DStv Premiership 2-1 loss to Swallows FC on Tuesday night.
The frontman had a sluggish start to the new season since joining Babina Noko from Royal AM in a reported R3.5 million deal.
Letsoalo, who scored his first goal for Sekhukhune after four league games, will finally be relieved to have stamped his influence despite their defeat.
Meanwhile, Tembo has been impressed by the 29-year-old’s impact on his team, particularly his ability to disrupt opposition defences.
“I’m quite happy with Victor getting off the mark. But I think after his goal, we kind of scrambled. We gave away a goal that I thought we could have defended better,” the ex-SuperSport United coach told the media.
The 52-year-old football manager has much confidence in his striking force and believes that is just only a matter of time before we start seeing fruitful results from them: “I think with time; when they start gelling, we will start seeing a lot of goals and good football coming out of these guys.”
Letsoalo first arrived at Sekhukhune as an energetic, ruthless, all-action forward who had scored 17 goals in 31 appearances for Thwihli Thwahla across all competitions before joining the Limpopo-based outfit.
On their away loss to the Dube Birds, Tembo stated: “I think we started the game well, especially in the first 35 minutes we played well. We were getting into good areas. We created a good few opportunities. Hence we took the lead with a very good goal.
“Second half, we never really created much, to be honest, and also conceding a goal from a cross which we knew it was their strength of which we did not defend well there. Now, we need to go back and work on our mistakes because there is still a lot of work to be done.”
