South African superstar DJ Zinhle, also known as Ntombezinhle Jiyane‑Mohosana, has officially entered her album era with the release of Zee Nation Volume 1, timed to coincide with her anticipated second annual Zee Nation Fest.

Zee Nation Volume 1 includes a mix of high-energy amapiano, dance, and house tracks featuring a diverse lineup of artists.

Collaborators on the album include Mörda, Liema Pantsi, Rethabile Khumalo, NDLOH JNR, Sweet Guluva, and Sfundo. One of the standouts is a fresh version of her 2009 breakout hit “Pepe,” reimagined for today’s soundscape.

“I just wanted something that would feel special for them too, because this album is made for them,” she said, speaking with IOL.“The festival isn’t just about music,” she said. “It’s about energy, celebration, and creating a space where people—especially women—can feel empowered and inspired.”

The album’s launch is strategically timed with the second edition of the Zee Nation Fest, set to take place on Women’s Day – 9 August 2025. This year’s festival promises a more immersive experience with specially curated zones, interactive fan lounges, and a fashion-forward aesthetic. Zinhle has teased up to 10 wardrobe changes for the event.

In a recent interview with TimesLIVE, Zinhle also opened up about the challenges of independent promotion, citing limited budgets and reliance on digital platforms. “We don’t have big billboard money, but we have social media, and we have our besties,” she said.
