Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League side Amavarara FC have enlisted the services of the well-travelled coach Tshepo Motsoaneng to the club’s technical team.
He joins the side as a co-coach with Vuyisani ‘Mavovo’ Mangaliso.
Motsoaneng was currently at the helm of Zizwe United, who participated in the 2022 ABC Motsepe National Playoffs held in the North West in June.
The 42-year-old mentor also coached Tornado FC and Buffalo City Municipal (BCM) Stars, Sinenkani FC, Bizana Pondo Chiefs, just to mention a few.
Amavarara finished last season in second place in Stream A of the provincial ABC League with 28 points after 16 outings and will be hoping to better their fortunes under the leadership of Motsoaneng and ‘Mavovo’ when the new campaign commences.
The club have begun with their pre-season camp in Kimberly, where they have already played two friendlies over the weekend.
On Saturday, the side locked horns with Mathaithai FC, winning the game with a 1-0 scoreline and went on to lose 1-0 to Hungry Lions on Sunday.
Motsoeneng is known for his lady luck on his side when it comes to winning titles in the ABC League and it is no surprise that the third division is his familiar territory as he had helped Bizana Pondo earn promotion to the National First Division during the 2020 ABC Motsepe National Playoffs.
The side’s mandate in the upcoming season is simple; challenge for the league in order to qualify for the South African football third-tier National Playoffs and possibly gain promotion to the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
