Mamelodi Sundowns co-head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has given an update on Bongani Zungu, and when their new signing will be ready to play.

Zungu re-joined Sundowns last week, as the club announced him before the kick-off of their game against Kaizer Chiefs.

Mngqithi said having not been part of the club’s pre-season, Zungu still has work to do to get ready, but he is hopeful that the Bafana Bafana international will make fast progress.

“I think is still a little bit far, considering that he was not part of the preseason training,” Mngqithi said after the Sekhukhune game.

“And he still has a little bit of work to do, he’s not been playing for the longest of time.

“But we are hoping that it will be shorter than two months. Because he’s a very disciplined boy who works very hard in showing interest to really come and assist the team.

“So we are looking forward to seeing the progress that he makes in the next three to four weeks. But we are optimistic He will definitely come in and help us.”
