Actor Muzi Mthabela is a pastor in real life

Muzi Mthabela takes pastoral work seriously even if he doesn’t have his own ministry; mostly, he gets invitations from other churches to preach and motivate congregants. In 2019 he was serving God under the Grace Bible Church, and by that time, he wasn’t a pastor.

Muzi joins an elite company of actors serving as pastors in various denominations, including the mighty Vusi Kunene from House of Zwide and Mpumi Mpama from Lingashoni.

The actor we all love to hate has always dreamed of being a Catholic Priest; talking to DRUM, he said:

“Being a priest meant l could not have a girlfriend or sexual intercourse my whole life, and I was prepared to do it.”

However, he set aside his dream of becoming a Catholic Priest and went to do his matric. After matric, he proceeded for a Degree in Postproduction and Editing from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. After graduating, Muzi swung to the other extreme, and he stopped attending church altogether and started rebelling against his Christian upbringing. Within a couple of years, Muzi was drinking, smoking and keeping a shabby rasta-inspired appearance. It looked like he had lost his Christian roots, but he soon made his way back after several years.

Muzi battled with drug addiction and is now back to his Christian roots. He didn’t become a Catholic Priest as he wanted, but he is now a pastor in the pentecostal religion.
