AmaZulu To Add Another Player?

AmaZulu are believed to be considering strengthening their defence, with a Ugandan international rumoured to be a target for the Durban club.

Vipers defender Halid Lwaliwa has been linked with a move to join AmaZulu before the end of the current transfer window.

The 25-year-old has been the subject of interest from several DStv Premiership clubs since becoming a mainstay in the Cranes squad, but Usuthu are said to be leading the race.

Despite signing former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele last week, Lwaliwa has been identified as a player who could improve their current options.

Last week after the opening day 0-0 draw to TS Galaxy, head coach Brandon Truter suggested that two more signings would be made before they officially close their cheque book and it appears the defender could be one the last pieces of the jigsaw as he goes for an ambitious goal of dethroning Mamelodi Sundowns as champions of the South African top-flight.
